To the President of World Karate Federation (wkf@wkf.net)
To the President of European Karate Federation (info@ekf.com.es)
Mr. Antonio Espinós
CC: Ukrainian Karate Federation (President @ivan.dutchak2020)
Dear Mr. Espinós,
We are addressing our letter to You Sir as the President of the World and European Karate Federations in the light of the recent unprecedented invasion of Russian army to its sovereign neighbour Ukraine. Russia has brought war not only to European soil but to the whole world. Karate is purely defence orientated sports, where attack and aggression have no role.
Estonian Karate Federation stands united with our fellow Ukrainian Karate Federation, whose members today cannot exercise karate, but have to defend their country from an aggressor. It’s a fight for the freedom of Ukrainian people. It’s a fight for their lives. There will be many casualties, much grief and suffering. Such aggression cannot go without a strong condemnation from the world’s peaceful karate community.
The Board of Estonian Karate Federation is asking the European and World Karate Federation to exclude all Russian karate athletes from all championships held by the European and World Karate Federation.
President of Estonian Karate Federation
